Here's what I'm thinking. That the human race is the dawning of the consciousness of the universe. It's just possible that after all these millennia, that the universe, a babe in it's own life cycle, has finally figured out a way to be conscious of itself, and we are the first iteration of that process, as the life energy, the Universal Libido (a la Jung), evolves from it's pre-prescient, infantile state to the mature Universality that it is, and is becoming as it wends its way to self actualization.
That's just as possible as any of the nut bar, elitist and otherwise religions and philosophies out there. And all hubris aside, Holy shit! Why not? This is a conjecture that I can sink my belief into.
